Blood on his hands, Carlos Gimenez ditches TV show post coup attempt

Medical emergency my fat Cuban ass.

Congressman (ew) Carlos Gimenez cancelled a television interview this past weekend because he was embarrassed, full of regret and genuinely afraid of how people, including his Cuban-American core voters, would take his objection to the Democratic process and involvement in what amounts to nothing less than a coup attempt to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power. In the United States.

Grimenez was supposed to go on WPLG Local 10’s This Week in South Florida — a coveted Sunday morning earned media spot politicians jostle for — and discuss his treacherous vote to overturn electoral college results in Arizona and Pennsylvania. In other words, his backstabbing move against the American voters for a dictator in waiting.

And to do so after the cult leader prodded his crazed supporters to attack the Capitol in an act of domestic terrorism that claimed five lives.

¡Que descaro!

His office said Sunday that Gimenez, who cancelled the morning of the live show, had suffered some painful kidney stones. Well, if that’s true, Ladra would call that divine justice.

But it’s just as likely to be made up. After all, if you’re going to fake a medical emergency, kidney stones is the way to go: It goes away by itself and there’s no evidence it was ever even there. And people will feel sorry.

So it’s either God working in one of her mysterious ways or this sudden “medical emergency” had more to do with his testicles than his kidneys. Or, perhaps, the urgent surgical removal of a gelatinous spine.

Both are believable.

Maybe what kept Grimenez from the prime Sunday morning gig at WPLG Local 10’s This Week in South Florida was the sudden realization that he couldn’t possibly defend his actions, which were in the wake of an self-preservation coup attempt and unprecedented attack on the Capitol. Or maybe it was the realization that he was the only South Florida Republican who agreed to go on TV after he voted with and for President Donald Trump, even after the POTUS had instigated that insurrection.

¡Que descaro!

Of course, Grimenez — who once wanted to give The Donald our public golf course in Key Biscayne — didn’t make this realization all on his own. It’s not like the trip to D.C. increased his bandwidth.

The most likely scenario is that after WPLG’s Glenna Milberg tweeted he’d be on her show, the only Republican to respond to the inquiry, former Congressman Carlos Curbelo, who has turned into a political advisor since he lost his seat, called and said “Nah, bruh.”

Ladra would have cancelled, too. In fact, he may stay hiding for a while. Because while almost every other Republican tried to distance herself or himself from Trump after the failed siege — even Sen. Marquito Rubio decided not to overturn states’ election results where they favored Joe Biden — Gimenez still did Trump’s bidding.

Guess he’s sticking with what worked for him so far.
