Bullard is considered a veteran Dem — having served in the Houe from 2000 to 2008 before crossing to the Senate — and black political icon in the southern parts of Miami-Dade. His mother was former Sen. and State Rep. Larcenia Bullard, who served from 1992 to 2012.

He is also a supporter of former Sen. Nan Rich against former Gov. Charlie Crist in the August 26 Bullard, Taddeo, Garciaprimary and could use his new position to further her outreach in Miami-Dade.

Taddeo and U.S. Rep. Joe Garcia tweeted about their pride and confidence the naming of the Dade Dems first African American chair.

“Welcome Senator @DwightBullard ! The newest chair of the @MiamiDadeDems – the future is bright,” Garcia wrote.

Then why did the new leader of the 305 Democratic world just endorse Republican State Rep. Eddy “Here Comes Hialeah” Gonzalez, who many suspect of absentee ballot shenanigans, for bullardthe Miami-Dade Property Appraiser’s position, even though credentialed Democrat Alex Dominguez is running for the same seat.

Ladra guesses the Dems are willing to forget something like that. After all, Bullard isn’t the only elected Dem in the Miami-Dade Delegation to endorse Gonzalez. He is photographed along with Sen. Oscar Braynon III and State Rep. Daphne Campbell in a mailer sent out to absentee voters by Gonzalez a week and a half ago.

Wonder what their prize for that is going to be.
