MEDIA ALERT: Waco Honors Local Vietnam Veterans on Memorial Day Weekend

— NFL and Baylor alumni Walter Abercrombie to participate in ceremony –

WACO, TX – May 21, 2019 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) –

WHAT:

The Vietnam Veterans of America, Waco/McLennan County Chapter #1012 and the Waco Citizens for a Vietnam Veterans Memorial (WCVVM) will honor those who died in Vietnam with a Sunset Ceremony.

WHEN:

The Sunset Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 24, 2019, 6:00 PM at the Waco Vietnam Veterans Memorial, located at University Parks Drive and Washington Avenue.

WHO:

The Sunset Ceremony is being organized by Gary Urban, of the Vietnam Veterans of America. The ceremony will include the reading of the names on the memorial, including the names of eight Baylor alumni that were recently added in 2018, most of which were football players. The Heart of Texas Young Marines will also be assisting this year.

As part of the ceremony, Gary will introduce Walter Abercrombie, former University High School #32, Baylor University #34 and Pittsburgh Steeler #34 fullback, will also be introduced as the Fullback for the 1st & Goal project of the WCVVM.

WHERE:

Waco Vietnam Veterans Memorial, 203 N University Parks Dr, Waco, TX 76701. Located at the corner of University Parks Drive and Washington Avenue by the beautiful Brazos River.
