Early voting starts Monday — and so does the policing.

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle announced on Thursday that she would activate the Elections Response Team and Voter Protection Hotline to ensure that early voting sites remain free of any impropriety or illegal activity.

“Law enforcement will be available to make sure that voting in our county is fair and that everyone’s voice is heard. I have set up an Election Response Team that will go out in response to any complaints about possible voting irregularities,” Fernandez Rundle said in a prepared statement.

So, what happened to the last complaints?

The State Attorney’s Office started an investigation in February after local Democrat leaders complained about a suspicious surge of senior voters switching from blue to the red party. All of the victims were 65 or older and were longtime Dems. They were flabbergasted when their new voter ID cards arrived showing they were now Republicans.

Several seniors came forward to report that their registration was changed without their permission.

Investigators from the State Attorney’s Office will be available during scheduled voting hours from Monday until early voting ends Aug. 21 and again on Election Day, Aug. 23. The hotline at 305-547-3300 is for anyone to report shenanigans at early voting sites.

The Miami-Dade Elections Department confirmed that their records from February 2021 to February of this year show more than 5,000 registered Democrats switched their party affiliation to Republican. So, it looks like it was a concerted effort.

In fact, WPLG Local 10’s Glenna Milberg found that people with clipboards and Republican Party of Florida caps had visited Haley Sofge Towers, a Miami-Dade public housing building in Little Havana.

The State Attorney’s office started investigating that then. The investigation is ongoing, a spokeswoman said.

The early voting schedule can be found here and is pictured below. The first week will, the precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the second week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., to accommodate all schedules. Saturday and Sunday, the voting is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Here are the locations:

  1. Nick A., I missed your challenge, but here’s my perspective on the 2020 election. I’m far from being a Democrat, but I had to vote for Biden because I think that the alternative was repugnant and dangerous. As it turned out, Trump demonstrated who he really is on January 6, 2021.

  2. All those who make up the cult of Trump and spread the big lie that Trump won the presidential election in 2020 should be ashamed of themselves. All the cowardly Republican politicians who criticize Trump in private but don’t do so publicly for fear of being primaried in the next election by a Trump fanatic should be repudiated by the voters.

  3. ‘ So, what happened to the last complaints?’

Rundle is a magician , She is the best of giving the illusion that she has done or doing something but a farce .

It is always a play of words such as ‘ looking into it ‘ , ‘ on going investigation ‘ , ‘ turned it over to another authority ‘ , etc , etc .

The key here is to simply lie and that assures reelection , just flagrantly lie .

  4. Sergio Calderon, if you truly believe that Zombie Joe actually garnered 80 million votes in 2020, I have some swamp land for sale…

  5. Miami-Dade Elections Dept. in Doral, has an excellent parking lot where a cruiser, showing the flag, may stage

  6. The SAO is going to investigate ? The Voters Fraud is a Business in Some Cities like Miami and Hialeah where ( BOLETERAS) Voters Harvesters have been Doing for Years getting paid by Campaign Specially in City Own Low rent Buildings . Welcome To The FRAUD and CORRUPTION of MIAMI DADE COUNTY K. Fernandez Rundle .

  7. The positive side of this is that if the elderly were switched to Republican party illegally they can still vote Democrat on the general elections AND it will look like more Republicans are voting Democrat! I hope that they find and punish the culprits.

  8. Unfortunately, the State is treating us to these theatrics to “ensure a fair election”. In fact, the politicians provide credibility to Donald Trump’s Big Lie that he won the 2020 election.

Ironically, the hysterics around the “fraud of 2020” may backfire for the Republican Party. Their officials have demonized mail ballots, which used to be popular among Republicans, and the result may be lower Republican participation. Such is life.
