BURBANK, CA - March 23, 2017 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) - LBI Media, the fastest growing, minority owned Spanish language broadcasting company in the U.S. announced today that it will partner for a third consecutive year with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® to raise funds via simultaneous radiothons in both Houston and Dallas on March 30-31, 2017.

Since 2015, LBI Media’s KTJM-FM 98.5 “La Raza” and KQQK-FM 107.9 “El Norte” in Houston, Texas have raised close to $1 million from over 2,700 Hispanic radio listeners for the charitable organization. For the past two years, during a two-day radiothon, LBI Media’s radio station DJ’s and personalities have committed to use their time, talent and the power of their radio platform to create awareness for critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care for underserved, low income children who require critical medical attention. The money raised will continue to benefit the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

“Our audience has responded with an incredible and record-breaking outpouring of support. When we began this effort, we really did not know what to expect. We all knew of the benefits and services that Texas Children’s Hospital provided to our local Hispanic community, but we were unsure as to the financial commitment that our listeners would make. Needless to say, we are grateful for the generosity of our community and the hard work of our entire team here at LBI Media,” stated Benny Herzog, manager, national radio sales, LBI Media, based in Houston.

In 2017, LBI Media will add its Dallas radio stations KNOR-FM 93.7 “La Raza,” KBOC-FM 98.3 “Luna” to be part of this two-day radiothon. The radiothons in both markets will be held from March 30th to the 31st and will air uninterrupted from 5 AM to 7 PM. The funds raised locally in the Dallas market will benefit the Children’s Hospital of Dallas.

“Children’s Miracle Network is extremely grateful for our partnership with LBI Media and their amazing team which has gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that these events are maximized to their full potential. La Raza and El Norte in Houston have excelled in their fundraising effort and in ensuring that the great work and services that Texas Children’s Hospital offers their community continues. We are excited about the addition of the Dallas stations and are confident that similar results will be produced,” stated Danny Garcia, strategic Hispanic media director, Children’s Miracle Network.
