The Facebook page for the recall effort against Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos “Cry Wolf” Gimenez was created Wednesday. Screen shot 2014-07-31 at 11.10.33 PMBy Thursday night, it had 1,688 likes.

“Our safety is not a game! LIKE and SHARE to support a call for a RESPONSIBLE County Mayor,” was the last post published on the page (like here), which is covered in photos of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue fire boats that Gimenez cut out of the budget in 2012.

Some say that it is possible some of the 60 or so lives lost on the water since then could have been saved.

And, now, the father of one of the victims, retired Miami-Dade Fire Captain Jack Garcia, is spearheading an effort to recall Gimenez.

“Not only bc of our fire boats, but now hundreds of officers. He could care less how many lives are lost! Sickening,” commented Suzanne Andujar.

Someone made a funny crack about what he is measuring with his fingers there on the Recall Mayor Carlos Gimenez page.

“This guy is a f****** imbecile,” chimed in Tony Chris Rodriguez.

One hundred and 17 people liked the post asking for reasons why fans support a recall.

“I could go on for days but above all else, it’s this administration’s fiscal mismanagement and their need to balance their mismanagement on the backs of county employees and at the risk of the public’s safety,” wrote Christopher Casiano.

“I support this recall because this mayor does not keep his word,” added Demetrius A. Hodges.

Ladra can’t help but wonder if the mayor and his groupie apologists will begin to realize how the community really feels about him and his decisions and if it will have any impact in his arrogant attitude and behavior. Maybe we’ll see a changed man. Maybe he’ll dig his heels in deeper.

Either way, it’s gonna be fun watching the page grow — or, rather, explode — before our very eyes.
